At Kirk Sandall Junior School, remote learning is provided through Microsoft Teams. Each child has a unique username and password in order to access it. Online learning follows the same timetable as an ordinary school day, ensuring the schools meets the government requirement of 4 hours of online learning per day. We also believe that this provides consistency for children as it is part of their normal routine.
Staff teach key and vulnerable children at the same time as online learners from their normal classroom. By adopting this approach, children can stay in contact with their friends and stay part of their learning community. One to one or group support can be accessed through the use of breakout rooms or individual sessions if needed.
Online learning is monitored through the use the ‘assignments’ function within Microsoft Teams and children receive feedback on their learning through this.
